| ASHIANA（路上で働く子どもたちのための職業訓練校）にて。カリグラフィ（習字）のクラス。イスラム教の経典の文字をきれいに写し書いている。路上で働いている子どもたちは、一日のうちほんの数時間だけこのセンターに来て学ぶ。子どもたちの真剣なまなざしを見てほしい。 A calligraphy class at ASHIANA. Children are beautifully replicating their Holy Koran. They come here daily but study for only a few hours before they return to work in the streets again. |
数十年も続いた戦乱は、人々から教育の機会を奪ってきた。明日支払われる予定の自分の給料を盗んでしまった大人がいる。明日まで待てば自分のものになるはずだったのに。そして給料と仕事の両方を失う。子どもの頃に、善悪の価値観や、建設的な考え方を学ぶことの重要性は計り知れない。 It is important for children to develop morals and build their constructive thinking skills. Unfortunately for these children, a long and lasting war has deprived them of such learning. |
