At an old market in Kabul. Children were busy drawing water, folding clothes and delivering fabrics to their customers. They stopped working and approached me as soon as I started to taking pictures of them. I was afraid that the shopkeeper would be angry, but he merely watched, smiling softly. |
At the MMCC center, the staff members have decided to build a temporary classroom in the courtyard. Even small children are actively involved in this project. Through this process, children will utilize their ability to think constructively as they build a foundation and pillars, pile bricks walls and put shingles on the roof. Given time and opportunities, these children have chances in their daily lives to acquire the trades or skills necessary to enrich their lives. My only wish for them is a life in a peaceful world. |
